The Municipality of Anchorage (MOA) Project Management & Engineering Department (PM&E) began the construction of the Camrose Drive Storm Drainage Project in June 2024. See map at the bottom for the project limits. Most of the work will be completed by September 2024, but there will be some follow-up work during the summer of 2025. MOA will be represented by an on-site inspector during construction to ensure the quality of work and minimize inconveniences. The inspector will work with residents to try and accommodate any special property access needs. See Contact Us page for contact information.
Improvements will include: a new storm drain system within Camrose Drive and Derby Way, a new storm drain outfall south of E. Northern Lights Boulevard, replacement of the sewer main on Derby Way, new asphalt pavement, new road foundation, and new street lighting. Work will also include the abandonment and removal of the end of the pipes of two existing storm drain outfalls that discharge into the Southfork Chester Creek from Camrose Drive. The lower portions of driveways, adjacent to the curb, throughout the project area will be reconstructed to match the new roadway grades. Additionally, all mailboxes along the project area will be replaced with new posts and mailboxes. The Contractor will be required to provide temporary mailboxes so that there is no interruption in mail service. Utility relocation work including natural gas, electric, telephone and cable facilities will also be occurring during construction.
